- Bike Path
Any corridor physically separated from motorized vehicular traffic by an open space or barrier, either within the highway right-of-way or an independent right-of-way.
Most bike paths/trails are called "multiuse", because these facilities are rarely used exclusively by bicyclists and because of their attractiveness to pedestrians, skaters, wheelchair users, joggers, and other non-motorized users.
Also known as "Bike Trail", "Bikeway", "Multi-Use Path/Trail", "Shared Use Path", "Bicycle Path". Also known as hell. A bike path isn't a path, or a trail, or a road. It's more like a zoo with the cages thrown open.
