- Wet Meadow
The largest and most diverse class of wetlands, with a great variety of vegetation types occurring in a wide range of environments.
These are characteristically saturated or shallowly flooded.
Soils may be entirely mineral or deep peat. Ph ranges from 3.0 to 9.0. Vegetation is herbaceous but scattered woody plants are sometimes present.
Prostrate willows may be present. Aquatic plants may be present or absent. Few lichens.
"Wet Meadow" is not a good place to camp. Or walk. The name pretty much says it all, and the bugs say the rest.
